Envoy Air Inc. operates more than 150 aircraft on nearly 1,000 daily flights to more than 150 destinations. The company, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines, has 16,000 employees.

Envoy was experiencing increasing dispatch challenges more often than their competitors which impacted their customers. The Envoy team traced the root cause of the deficiencies to gaps in its fleet reliability management process. However, high data volume and multiple data sets with poor linkages continued to frustrate their efforts to identify key issues drivers. This translated into many missed opportunities to take timely corrective action to improve reliability.

Solution

Envoy engaged RCMBT to work with their internal team to close the gaps in Envoy’s reliability process. RCM reviewed and made recommendations to improve the existing process. This included adding business rules, cleaning and structuring the data and enhancing it to enable cross-data-set analysis. Using the big data capabilities of its AI Platform, RCMBT assisted the Envoy team to predict potential failures and take appropriate action to prevent them. Performance enhancement grows with Envoy’s  continuing use of RCMBT services to enhance reliability management.
